Meet The Team


Costantinos Stamboulis, MS, OTR/L, CHT, CLT-UE, AOEAS

Costa Stamboulis is a Co-founder of SOMA Physical and Occupational Therapy. Costa is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology with a Master of Science with distinction in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. He is a board certified hand therapist with advanced experience in upper extremity rehabilitation in both orthopedic and neurological conditions. In addition, he is a specialist in lymphedema therapy for the upper extremity and is an Advanced Office Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (AOES). 

He is committed to restoring his patients’ abilities to perform daily functional tasks by utilizing his knowledge of manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, therapeutic exercise, task-orientated activities, modalities and utilizing splints and other orthoses as indicated.  

Costa resides in Astoria with his wife. He enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, keeping up with sports and enjoying neighborhood restaurants.

George Stamboulis, DPT, PT, OCS

George Stamboulis is a Co-founder of SOMA Physical and Occupational Therapy. He earned his Bachelor's of Life Sciences and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). Following his graduate education, George completed an orthopedic residency program where he was mentored by renowned physical therapist across the nation. With the knowledge and hands-on experience, he obtained his orthopedic clinical specialist certification (OCS) and taught graduate level anatomy and manual therapy. He is also a co-author of a journal article on blood flow restriction training, which was published in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy.

George prides himself in giving quality care and guiding patients to better themselves every visit. He has experience treating a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to pre/post-operative, musculoskeletal, sports injuries, neurological and chronic pain. 

On his off time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, hiking/camping and fishing.
